Sealed Glass Unit Replacement
Are your windows foggy, cracked, or have they lost their thermal efficiency? Our sealed glass unit replacement service restores your windows to their original performance. 10-year warranty on all replacements.
What is a sealed glass unit?
A sealed glass unit (also called an insulated glass unit or IGU) consists of two or three glass panels separated by a hermetic space filled with argon gas. This system provides superior thermal and acoustic insulation for your windows.
When the unit's sealant degrades over time, moisture penetrates between the panes and causes permanent fogging. This is the sign that it's time to replace your sealed unit. Replacing the sealed unit is much less expensive than replacing the entire window.
Benefits of sealed glass replacement
A new unit with Low-E glass and argon gas can reduce heat loss by up to 50% compared to a defective unit. You save on heating bills while improving your home's comfort.
Sealed glass replacement is an eco-friendly solution: instead of throwing away your entire window, only the glass unit is replaced. The existing frame is preserved, reducing waste and the total repair cost.

Everything about sealed glass replacement
Why is there fog between my window panes?
Fog between the panes indicates that the sealant of your sealed unit is broken. Outside moisture penetrates the space between the two panes and condenses. This problem cannot be fixed by cleaning: the entire sealed unit needs to be replaced.
How long does a sealed glass replacement take?
Measurements are taken in a single visit. Custom manufacturing typically takes 2 to 3 weeks. Final installation takes less than one hour per window. In total, expect about 3 to 4 weeks from first call to installation.
Is the replacement Energy Star certified?
Yes, all our replacement sealed units use Low-E glass with argon gas and meet Energy Star standards. You get better thermal insulation than the original unit in most cases.
Do I need to replace the entire window or just the sealed unit?
In the vast majority of cases, only the sealed unit needs to be replaced. Your window frame is preserved, significantly reducing cost. Replacing just the sealed unit costs on average 60 to 70% less than a full window replacement.
